The story is also extremely well-told, utilized a tell-then-show method of storytelling that compliments the subliminal horror of this universe. I absolutely adore the writing too, I have listened to June Wayne narrate for almost 200 hours and I have never once gotten tired of it. The music lives rent-free in my head, it's incredible. Everything from the art to the atmosphere to the sound design is a masterpiece. This game is debatably the greatest adaptation of Lovecraftian horror in any piece of media ever conceived. Now all it does is artificially slow down progression and there is little fun having to repeat the same dungeon with the same heroes 10 times just to get one upgrade in townġ74h 42m PlayedAbsolutely incredible. If it makes my playthrough faster than that's fine it's single player anyway. I understand the vision of the developers but at least give the player the option to relax the inventory rules. I stopped playing when the game started to feel like work :-(. The game does start to become repetitive around midgame and that combined with the tiny inventory that cannot be extended and the limited stack sizes makes medium to large dungeons quite pointless and the high requirements cost for upgrades, tedious even when you play on Radiant. However, the game did not end on my favourite list nor did I finish it. There are a couple of DLCs and I got them all when they were on sale: they extent the game adding different options, enemies and heroes and I can recommend them all. If you like Heroes of Might & Magic, Disciples (the older game) or more recent Hades you will definitely like Darkest Dungeon. It is not demanding on your computer and it is so addictive. But the touch screen nature of the game truly shows off the Switch’s screen capabilities with fast-paced match-up puzzle action.65h 57m ProgressI had a good time with Darkest Dungeon and I wish I had found this game earlier than in 2022. Sushi Striker simultaneously released alongside the 3DS version leading us to speculate that Nintendo brought it over to the Switch as they were worried about how a new IP would do on the 3DS in 2018. With fully voice acted anime cutscenes and approximately 25 hours worth of gameplay. Sushi Striker may not have received the success that Nintendo were hoping for, but the game is actually a well-crafted touch screen adventure that is brimming with a lot more content than you would expect.
